Reforestation

Here at Duckfeet USA, we love our headquarters location in the tiny state of New Hampshire. Although a few members of our team led previous lives in big cities, we all now live here because we love access to quiet spots in nature.

One way to honor our love of the Earth and for the beautiful trees around us, is by aiding in reforestation efforts, because whether you love adventuring deep into the woods or prefer walking the city streets, we all need trees to survive.

Did you know? Reforestation is the process of replanting trees where forest had previous been destroyed. 

Why Trees are Important 

Reforestation isn't just about enjoying tree-lined walking paths, it's about the survival of our planet. As our partners at One Tree Planted explain, "Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines." To cut right to the point, if we don't have trees, we won't have people, either.  

Did you know? In 2018, people destroyed enough rainforests to cover Belgium. 

One Tree Planted

One way to contribute to reforestation is by working with organizations already committed to the efforts. We've partnered with One Tree Planted, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation, by planting trees to restore nature and biodiversity. They work with select reforestation organizations in 4 regions: North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Donations are collected, allocated, and turned into trees in the ground.

Trees & Beyond 

There are many ways we can support and help heal our planet. Although planting trees is an important part of reforestation, we can't stop there. Supporting Indigenous peoples, local communities, and restoration are all key parts to fixing the issue of deforestation.

As Nikola Alexandre, a Restoration Fellow at Conservation International, explains, “The field of restoration is, by design, about weaving people and nature together.”
