Small Shops we Love

Blavand

We love shopping small. Supporting a small business is great for the community, local economy, and for our hearts. This year, we're excited to share some of our favorite tiny (but great) shops.

Looking for holiday gifts? Take a look at the wares of these small business champions.

Small but Mighty

Lala Earth

Check out Lala Earth for wild herbal tonics and nourishing skin care products. Everything in the shop is handmade by the maker (Lauren) and inspired by the local plants of her home in Southern Vermont. From herb-infused body oils to medicinal mushroom hot chocolate, Lala Earth's store is full of gifts made with love.

Local Favorites

Although we love small businesses all over the country, we also want to share a few of our local favorites. Here are a few New England shops that our Duckfeet USA team loves and that you can support from your hometown.

White Heron

Do you have a local coffee shop that everyone in your town goes to? For us, it's White Heron. Just a few blocks from our Duckfeet USA office, White Heron is a New England based organic tea and coffee company. They began with the intention of offering divine and healthy organic teas but soon expanded to include brewing chai, roasting organic coffee. Although we love shopping at their Portsmouth, NH location, you can also order your White Heron goodies through their website.

Gus & Ruby

We just love Gus & Ruby. This custom design and print studio was founded by best friends and business partners, Samantha Finigan and Whitney Swaffield and named after their respective dogs, Gus & Ruby. They specialize in creating one-of-a-kind pieces of art in the form of wedding & special event invitations, birth announcements and classic correspondence. But on top of all of that, their retail stores are chock full of beautiful goods for home and office.

Nahcotta

Nahcotta is a must-visit stop in downtown Portsmouth, NH. Full of beautiful art originals and prints, ceramics, and gifts of all kinds, you can shop in person or through their website. Check out their manifesto and you'll see why we just can't get enough of them: "We believe a sense of humor, compassion, original art and integrity are integral parts of a happy life. We believe in the importance of being inspired. We believe that the things that make you feel are just as important as the things that make you think. We believe in connecting - with our neighbors next door and across the world. We strive to make art accessible to anyone and everyone because things of beauty enrich our lives in ineffable ways."
