For the New Year

Reflections for the new year

As 2020 comes to a close, we're reflecting on all that we've learned and all that we're hoping for in the new year. At Duckfeet USA, we are so grateful for all of the support and love we received from our flock family throughout this unpredictable year. As we step into this new year, we are so looking forward to sharing with you the values that we hold dearly: thoughtfulness, sustainability, and connection.

Goals for 2021

Leave a smaller footprint

Love our things

We believe in taking care of and investing in the things we own, so there's no need to throw them out in their old age. In the case of Duckfeet, they get better with age! That's why one of our new year's resolutions is to focus on sustainable practices that help us take care of what we own, and ultimately make our environmental footprint a little smaller.

Did you know at least 300 million pairs of shoes end up in landfills each year, in the US alone? Instead of tossing our well-loved shoes, Duckfeet are designed to be resoled after years of wear. Have a pair of Duckfeet that’s been around the block a few times? All you need is the replacement sole and a trusted cobbler!

For resoling services, we've teamed up with United Shoe Repair to make resoling your well-loved Duckfeet simple and easy. Here’s to taking better care of what we own.

Shop

invest more to spend less

When investing in an essential piece for your closet, it's important to think about how it aligns with your lifestyle and values. For us, we choose to invest in sustainable pieces that we know will last longer in quality and style.

In this careful process of choosing what truly fits in our life, we ultimately spend less on the things that don't. On our team, we happily invest in classic designs, functionality, and versatility, while also supporting ethical production and consumption.

It feels good to purchase products that align with our core values. One way we love to shop is by supporting small businesses. Check out our blog on Small Shops We Love for some ideas.

One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted

Plant more Trees

More trees = happier Earth. Did you know that with every purchase at Duckfeet USA, you can also add a tree to your order for just $1? For ever dollar contributed, our friends at One Tree Planted receive 100% for reforestation. For every dollar, a new tree is planted.

We love learning new ways to contribute to a healthier planet. Check out our sustainability page to see the latest commitments we're making.

Disconnect to connect

We are so grateful for the ways that technology helped us stay connected this year. For next year, on team Duckfeet USA, we're looking optimistically forward to more in person connection. And before that happens, we're getting a head start by disconnecting from our phones more often and spending time outside.

If you're like us, you're wanting to get outside more, find adventures near home, and breathe lots of fresh air. We found the tiny cabins of Getaway are one of our favorite 'unplug & recharge' spaces. Their mission is "to give people time, space, and permission to be off. Our tiny cabins in nature provide a break from the city, technology, and work, so that you can recharge and reconnect to who and what matters most." What a perfect goal for this next year, not only unplugging occasionally, but giving ourselves the permission to fully relax and recharge.

Makers

Connections with you

One of our favorite projects to come out of this year was the Maker Feature series on our blog! It was such a pleasure learning about our Duckfeet family and we can't wait to meet more of you this coming year (and share your story!)

If you're a maker and would like to be featured, or if you know someone who would, please reach out to us! In this next year, we're excited to highlight many, many more of our Duckfeet family members.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO?

We all most likely have something we're hoping for in 2021. We'd love to hear what you're most looking forward to in the new year. Let us know in the comments!
