One-of-a-Kind: Broken Arrows Quilt Vest (XS-M)

Sale price$225.00 Regular price$335.00

This vest was made from a mid-weight quilt that hand-pieced and quilted, with lovely fabrics throughout including indigo blue, shirting fabrics, calicos, and the stunning mourning black used for the sashing. The backing is an incredible homespun plaid as well which is incredibly special. The edges are bound in and rounded handwarmer style pockets are bound in a dusty sage petite leaf print fabric that I think ties this piece together in such a special way. This quilt is truly one-of-a-kind, and such a unique take for the time period (early 1900s!) - the color palette and pattern are surprisingly modern and unexpected, and I love this in conjunction with the fabrics used.

It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. This quilt in particular has some age discoloration and fabric wear and degradation throughout, particularly in the mourning black used for the sashing. The dyes used to achieve these black patterns 100+ years ago contained sulphur, which over time and washing led to fabric disintegration - it was certainly a learning process to achieve different colors back in the late 1800s! Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.

Measurements (taken flat across) - it is best to compare measurements to a coat/vest you already own - sizing is flexible due to the open nature of this style:

Chest (armpit to armpit): 20.5" (flexible given the open nature of this piece)

Length (top of the shoulder to bottom hem): 21.5”

Shoulder to shoulder: 15"
